Customize Term Set error: The default termstore for this site cannot be identified

When creating a site column of type Managed Metadata, and selecting "Customize your term set" under the Term Set Settings section, an alert box may pop up with the error:

Step1: Create new ‘Managed Metadata Service’ – Managed Metadata Service1

Step2: Set ‘default storage location’ for new Managed Metadata Service1

Step3: Set Managed Metadata Service1 for your webapplication to default

Details:

Step1: Create new ‘Managed Metadata Service’ – Managed Metadata Service1

– Go to SharePoint Central Administration

– Select ‘Mange service applications’:

– Select new button, and click to ‘Managed Metadata Service’:

Fill require information and click OK.

Step2: Set ‘default storage location’ for new Managed Metadata Service1

– Select ‘Managed Metadata Service’,

and click Properties:

Uncheck two options as above picture and lick OK.

Select ‘Managed MetadataService1’’, and click Properties:

Check to two options as above picture and click OK.

Step3: Set Managed Metadata Service1 for your webapplication to default

Comeback Central Admin, and lick ‘Manage web applications’

Select your web application,and click ‘Service Connections’, as below picture:

Check to ‘Managed Metadata Services1, and set as default

image

Click OK.

Done.
